Organic Birth

Organic Birth Energy Doula Services are now accepting clients in the Eugene, Oregon vicinity. This includes Springfield, Veneta, Elmira, Junction City and surrounding areas. Use the Energy Doula to help you through labor and postpartum!

BIRTH DOULA SERVICES
Birth doula services include three prenatal visits, unlimited phone and email contact, prenatal education, attendance at your birth, help with breastfeeding if needed and one or two postpartum visits as needed. I will reserve two weeks before and after your due date, for a total of four weeks in which I am on call for you.

At hospital births, I will attend to the needs of you and your partner through the use of reiki for relaxation, massage techniques, suggestions for positioning if you wish, fetching water and snacks, or whatever else you need. I will provide you with a calming presence throughout your labor with no shift changes or judgments. It is your birth, not mine. All decisions will be up to you and your partner. I offer my skills in comfort measures, emotional and physical support and reassurance. After the birth, I will stay until you feel comfortable with feeding your new baby.

At homebirths, I will attend to the needs of you and your partner or your other children if you prefer. I will prepare snacks as needed and offer reiki, massage techniques, positioning advice and calm reassurance as needed. I will prepare a nutritious meal before I leave. I can assist with the establishment of breastfeeding if you like.

The limits of my involvement are up to you. I can sit back and do nothing until you need me or be involved every step of the way.I do not perform any medical procedures or assessments.

POSTPARTUM DOULA
As a postpartum doula, you can schedule me to arrive when you need me. Take a break so you can nap or bathe. I will watch baby, older siblings, and do light clean up and laundry. I can assist with breastfeeding and other babycare questions. Reiki treatments are available to help you relax and feel better.

REIKI
Reiki treatments are available prenatally, during labor and postpartum. Reiki is calming and soothing. It helps you relax into your new role as mother. Reiki is good for baby, too. It is non-invasive and can help you both make the transition from pregnancy to your new life as a family. I have my own massage table that I use for treatments, but I can also do reiki wherever it is that you feel comfortable. Reiki is great for new dads, too! Adjusting to fatherhood can be as stressful as adjusting to motherhood can be.

Couple attunements are available for a fee so you can each use reiki to help each other and your children.

MY EXPERIENCE
I first trained as a doula in 1994. Doula work was my primary focus for a few years until my own children required more of my time. They are now old enough to do without me once in awhile. I had eight births of my own: four in the hospital and four at home. My first birth was a cesarean. The rest of my births were successful VBACs. I have experienced surgical birth, episiotomy, epidurals, no pain medication, babies born with a hand up by their head (nuchal hand) and I have breastfed for over 18 years now. In the mid-1990s I was a breastfeeding peer counselor for the local WIC office. My studies have centered around midwifery for several years.
