Work at Home, be Your own Boss and Beat the Financial Crisis!
 | Hi! we're John & Toni, the owners of Organic Birth. My wife, Toni, is a work at home mom! I work outside the home five days a week transporting children to school. She helps run several websites, she is a ghostwriter for many more websites and she still takes care of the household and our 8 wonderful children. But when you work at home for other people your income can be very SMALL. When you are a freelancer like her, you get no weekends off, no sick leave, no holidays, no retirement programs and no benefits. Don't get us wrong, we are grateful for all the income that she brings in through her many jobs, just like we are grateful for what I bring in. Even before this financial crisis knocked really hard on our family's front door, like it has with so many others in these difficult times, we had always dreamed of working from home. We dreamed of spending time with our family and doing all the things we love. We also dreamed of financial stability and depending only on ourselves for our family's financial security, instead of working for others. Who doesn't? Here is how to Start a Work-From-Home Business & Make it a Successful One! The story below tells how we turned our passion and dream into a reality. We've tried several work at home businesses: | First we tried publishing (play scripts and a homeschooling newsletter). When neither of those ventures made enough, we turned to MLMs like so many others. After that, we tried to sell rabbit cages at the local shows. We enjoyed showing rabbits, so we figured we could try to turn it into a business. Well, we had no control over the quality of the cages that arrived at our door, so this venture didn't work out too well, either. We decided we needed to do something that we could control. I designed a tool we called the Rakestraw Spinner to spin wool into yarn. We made and sold them for several years before we sold this business due to my health. Before we sold it, we also designed triangle looms made of pvc for weaving shawls. Our last venture involved making wire-wrapped jewelry and a few other items to sell online and at our local artisan market. We had a few great days, but the rest of the time, we were just one more in a crowd. As you can see we have worked on many money making ideas, and some even made us some money, but it wasn't enough to rely on. Through it all, we learned a lot about websites, eBay, and other ways to sell online. But it was never enough. We would build a website and wait for the customers to find us. This is called hope marketing. All the hope in the world will not bring the buyers in if they don't know that you are out there! We tried to learn more about SEO (search engine optimization), but the search engines change their algorithms all the time, so just when we thought we had some of it figured out, things would change. This is when I found SBI and my eyes were opened to see that there is a way to get people to your site if you are willing to put the time and effort into giving them what they want and need most...
INFORMATION.
Well, we'd never thought about just providing information before. And writing content? Besides sales pages, what else was there to write? SBI! helped us learn so much about how to set up a page that both our visitors and the search engines liked. Since June, we have written over 70 pages of content, and have seen our numbers climb just like SBI! promised. We've been able to turn our passion for birth and babies into an informational site that not only ranks well with the search engines, but attracts visitors from all over the world. We earn money through cool things like Google AdSense and other affiliates. All we need to do is provide content. Good thing my wife has studied childbirth for the past 17 years... it is paying off now. I'm finding that I have a lot more to say than I thought I would, and I can put my thoughts down for the world to see! For those of you feeling a bit daunted about the prospect of writing... I felt that way, too. But if you just sit down and write like you would talk, it isn't that hard! While we can't quit our day jobs just yet, we can see the light at the end of the tunnel. If you share a similar dream, take a look at what SBI! has to offer. It is real work, not a get-rich-quick-scheme. It has taken us months of hard work to get where we are now. The difference is we can measure our progress and feel we are getting somewhere in accomplishing our goal. We've already got ideas for additional websites we want to build with SBI!, so we figure in a couple of years, we'll be right where we want to be... home with our family where we belong. SBI! has made all the difference to us.
